Success Beyond BVSC…
The Blue Valley Soccer Club is very proud to help in the process that takes motivated high school players to the next step by choosing a college that will further their educational goals as well as their soccer goals. In the Fall of 2010, nearly the entire BVSC STARS Mallorca Girls Team became soccer playing college freshman. A few freshman highlights are listed here. Follow these players at their respective schools to catch a glimpse of their current and future success! Congrats to all of our BVSC Alumni - for their accolades on and off the field of soccer.
Caffrey Brooks – Vanderbilt
Ashley Catrell – Iowa – Played in 17 of 20 games. Scored 3 goals this season including the winning goal against Purdue
Kerry Cummings – St. John’s
Kylie Greischar – Indiana State
Erin Henderson – Denver University
Maegan Kelly – Marquette – Named to the Big East All Rookie Team – Big East Rookie of the Week twice in Fall 2010
Mandy Laddish – Notre Dame –NCAA Women’s Soccer Champions – Scored winning (and only) goal against Ohio State in Semi-Final game that advanced Notre Dame to the championship – Named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team - Named to the Big East All Rookie Team – Named Top Drawer Soccer National All Rookie Team - Ranked 9th Top Drawer Soccer Club Soccer Freshman National Player rankings – Started all games for the Irish logging in 3rd most minutes played on the team
Kara McCaughey – South Dakota State – Received a medical red shirt her freshman season, due to an ankle injury – she is looking very forward to playing this spring!
Darci Miller – South Dakota State – Named to the All-Summit Conference Freshman Team
Julianne Palm – Stony Brook University – Selected to the American East All-Tournament Team
Evan Palmer – Arkansas – In Arkansas’ Honors Program with academic scholarship as well as athletic scholarship – 4.0 GPA – Considering International Relations as her major with minors in Spanish and Religious Studies – Active is StuMo and Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Shannon Renner – Northern Illinois University – Played in all games this fall – Mostly on defense - Scored two goals when playing forward - In NIU’s Honors Program with a 4.0 GPA - Will transfer to KU at the start of spring semester, 2011 to play soccer for the Jayhawks
Frances Silva – West Virginia – Named to the Big East All Rookie Team - Big East Champs – Started 20 of 24 games – Scored 4 goals and had 3 assists – 4.0 GPA – Broadcast Journalism major
Ashley Washburn – Missouri State – Played in every game – Scored 2 goals with her second goal scored in the conference championship to tie up the game against Creighton – Unfortunately Creighton won in overtime that game – MO State finished second in their league as well as in the conference tournament – Studying nursing – On athletic and academic scholarship
Hannah Westberg – Trinity University
Bekah White – Indiana
Jennifer Wolfe – UNLV – Played in 17 of 20 games for the Rebels averaging 40 minutes a game - The Rebels lost 2-1 to #1 seed New Mexico preventing them from playing for a bid to the NCAA Tournament - UNLV’s record for the season was 11-8-1 - Jennifer is on both an Athletic Soccer Scholarship and an Academic UNLV Excellence Scholarship -She is considering majors of Business, Hotel Mgmt. or Dentistry
